General Labourer - Meat Processing Westfine Meats Inc. is currently hiring an entry-level Labourer at our meat processing plant. This position works Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Shift end times may vary.

Job Opportunities

Harvest Floor

  • Cleaning floors
  • Assisting with moving lambs
  • Pulling hides
  • Vacuuming carcasses
  • Sorting carcasses
  • Hanging offal's
  • Taking garbage and cardboard out

Production Floor

  • Transport inedible products to appropriate areas
  • Bagging lamb products
  • Boxing lamb products
  • Making combos
  • Making boxes
  • Palletizing
  • Strapper Operator
  • Cleaning Floors
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor or manager

Value Added

  • Set up / take down equipment and clean as needed
  • Follow recipes to mix ground products
  • Perform daily and hourly production verifications
  • Monitor for defects in product. (Safety, food quality or final product)
  • Make flattened cardboard into boxes
  • Remove formed product from conveyors and place in packaging
  • Clean work areas and equipment
  • Assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties.
  • Other duties and/or special projects assigned by HR / Safety Coordinator or Manager
  • Watch out for the health and safety of yourself and fellow workers
  • Follow the room procedures and protocols to create new spice added products.


Requirements 

  • Attention to detail
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Physically fit (able to lift 50 lbs.)
  • Ability to work in varied conditions which may include heat, cold, loud noise, with use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Enjoy working on a team
  • No formal education required


Assets

  • Previous experience working in a meat processing plant OR production related work
  • Education experience in agriculture
  • Butcher experience

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate billing and invoicing processes in collaboration with the Sales and Finance teams
  • Organize logistics for order pickups and deliveries, ensuring smooth communication with customers and carriers
  • Support daily accounting tasks, including data entry, invoicing, and reconciliation assistance
  • Manage front desk operations, greeting visitors and maintaining access control protocols
  • Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls, emails, and mail
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with document management for audits and compliance
  • Provide administrative support to management and cross-functional teams as needed
  • Monitor office supplies and coordinate replenishment to ensure smooth operations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline administrative processes

 

What You Bring
